Naoetsu Beach features shallow waters and a wide sandy beach—both rare on the Japan Sea coast—and a large parking lot for 500 cars. The quality of the water means that beachgoers from neighboring Nagano Prefecture and beyond often visit here. The nearby Umigatari aquarium is also worth a visit.
